Cognitive path „Around the Streva Pit“
Geological object Streva Pit ( “Zapadlaja jama“), a dip of pelvic shape weaved with legends, is a smaller sister of the Devil‘s hollow.
The pit is in plots 1-2 of 20th forest block of Trakai state forest, Aukstadvaris forestry, in Aukstadvaris Regional park Spindis Landscape Reserve, in Spindis forest, the important territory for protection of natural habitats of EC protected areas network Natura 2000.
The Streva pit is of thermo-karst origin. But the legends tell the different way of its origin. An inn is said to be standing there where devils and rakes used to revel. The inn was cursed and vanished into thin air, but from the deep hole you still sometimes can hear strange sounds.
The newly erected cognitive path invites you to go around the pit and examine it from all sides, enjoy the beautiful forest and stay in the shelter of natural environment. The length of the path is 600 meters. There are 5 stops where you will find information about the path,
